Possible reasons are unstable or insufficient charging, prolonged discharged state, topping up with electrolyte instead of distilled water, operating the unit at excessive temperature. Increased self-discharge is observed in case of fouling of the plates or the electrolyte.

How to detect faults

The average replacement interval of the battery is 5-7 years. Truck battery life depends largely on how well it has been serviced. In particular, servicing includes checking with a special tester. The need for unscheduled diagnostics and repair may be indicated by quick discharge, high voltage at the beginning of charging. In addition, it happens that the starter does not work, and the engine does not start even with normal voltage at the contacts of the device.
