The Iveco Eurostar tractor units were produced from 1993 until 2002. The trucks were assembled in Turin, Italy. The model was specially developed for long-distance transportation of oversized loads. In 1993 it won the prestigious International Truck of the Year prize which is annually awarded by an expert jury of journalists from 23 countries. This vehicle replaced on the market the Turbostar model which had been manufactured since 1984.

These vehicles belonged to heavy-duty trucks: the maximum authorised mass for most of them was 18–26 tons. Heavier trucks were offered in some countries. For example, versions with the MAM of 38 tons were supplied to France, 44 tons – to Italy and 60 tons – to the Netherlands.

Refrigerator, flatbed and other bodies were available for these commercial vehicles. The axle configurations could be 4 × 2, 6 × 2, and 6 × 4. As standard, the anti-lock braking system and the anti-slip system (ASR) were provided.

The cabins were designed with regard to the operating conditions of the trucks and were represented by four types. Apart from standard compact ones, there were versions with a low roof, as well as with one or two sleeping berths.

Starting from 1998, the trucks were equipped with the Cursor 6 power units that conformed to Euro 2 and Euro 3 emissions standards. In 1999, the manufacturer introduced vehicles equipped with Cursor 8 and Cursor 13 engines. These engines featured a high power output and low fuel consumption.
