IVECO Trakker trucks

The Iveco Trakker are heavy-duty trucks which have been manufactured since 2004 up to the present moment. Some of them feature the GVW of up to 18 tons while for others it reaches 72 tons. The vehicles are built at the plants in Spain, the RSA, Argentina, Brazil, Venezuela, Russia, China and Nigeria. These vehicles have excellent off-road performance, due to that, they are widely used as military vehicles and also off-road, for example, in quarries, on construction sites. The predecessor of this model is the EuroTrakker.

Iveco Trakker: the background

The vehicle was introduced in 2004 on Sicily. It resembles the Stralis model of 2002 but it features a more durable frame made of steel U-shaped rails and higher road clearance. The trucks are fitted with anti-lock braking, traction control and other driver-assistance systems.

The vehicles are assembled in two-axle, three-axle and four-axle configurations with various wheel arrangements: 4 × 2, 4 × 4, 6 × 4, 6 × 6, 8 × 8. These commercial vehicles are characterised by a high level of comfort. Seats can be adjusted, there are holders for bottles and cups, numerous compartments for storing things in the cab.

Among the available bodies, there are dump trucks, concrete mixers, fire engines, flatbed lorries, etc. The trucks are equipped with two types of cabs:

• Hi-Land (for short-distance trips). The height is 1,570, the width - 2,280, the length - 1,660 mm. They are equipped with a pull-out table and clothes hooks. It is possible to install the third seat.
• Hi-Track (for long-distance trips). The height is 1,570 or 1,820 mm, the width - 2,280 mm, the length - 2,100 mm. There is a sleeper with one or two berths in the cab.

The first facelift took place in 2007 and the second one was in 2013. The trucks were equipped with the Cursor power units with the Common Rail fuel injection system and the selective catalytic reduction technology HI-SCR. The engines are equipped with a VTG turbocharger and conform to the Euro 5 and Euro 6 emissions standards.

The facelifted model which has “New” in its name allows reducing the maintenance costs, in particular, due to the extended motor oil replacement intervals.
